Het Keramische Tegelmuurwerk ‘De Tijd van de Ontdekkingsreizen’ is een dramatisch historisch kunstwerk uit mijn My Art Collection, geïnspireerd op de grote maritieme reizen die onbekende zeeën en verre landen openden voor Europese ontdekkingsreizigers.
De scène vangt het moment van aankomst in een onbekende tropische haven. Een schitterend oud Europees zeilschip beweegt langzaam richting de kust; zijn hoge masten, grote zeilen en gedetailleerde houten romp domineren het centrum van de compositie. Kleinere boten doorkruisen het water terwijl langs de kustlijn een historische nederzetting zichtbaar wordt.
Op de voorgrond bestuderen ontdekkingsreizigers het nieuw ontdekte landschap, omringd door hulpmiddelen voor navigatie en verkenning. Oude kaarten, een kompas, navigatie-instrumenten, kratten, touwen en reisuitrusting versterken het gevoel van een expeditie aan het begin van een nieuw hoofdstuk.
Achter de haven rijst een spectaculair tropisch landschap op met palmbomen, ruige kliffen, watervallen en torenhoge bergen die in de wolken verdwijnen. De combinatie van zee, bergen, schepen en ontdekkingsreizigers wekt een gevoel van afstand, ontdekking en avontuur.

Het Keramische Tegelmuurwerk ‘De Tijd van de Ontdekkingsreizen’ maakt deel uit van mijn My Art Collection, een collectie gebaseerd op mijn persoonlijke artistieke visie op historische momenten, legendarische reizen en scènes die de verbeelding prikkelen.
Ik wilde dat dit kunstwerk aanvoelt als een pagina uit het journaal van een oude ontdekkingsreiziger, tot leven gebracht als een fysiek keramisch kunstwerk. De compositie combineert maritieme geschiedenis, navigatie, avontuur en het mysterie van een onbekende bestemming.
Lasergegraveerd Kunstwerk
Het kunstwerk is speciaal voorbereid voor keramisch lasergraveren, met sterke zwarte details in combinatie met delicate grijstoonarceringen en natuurlijke witte keramische vlakken.
De verfijnde graveerbehandeling creëert diepte in de zeilen, het houten schip, de bergen, wolken, het water en de historische objecten, terwijl heldere vlakken behouden blijven die de compositie een lichtere en meer verfijnde uitstraling geven.
De vier keramische tegels zijn ontworpen om één doorlopend panoramisch kunstwerk te vormen, waardoor schip, haven en landschap natuurlijk van de ene tegel in de andere overlopen.
Gemaakt om lang mee te gaan
Het kunstwerk wordt permanent op keramiek lasergegraveerd en is ontworpen om, mits goed verzorgd en correct geïnstalleerd, decennialang een blijvend decoratief stuk te blijven.

De vier onderdelen zijn bedoeld om samen te worden gepresenteerd als één doorlopend keramisch wandmozaïek. Het voltooide kunstwerk kan worden gemonteerd met een geschikt keramisch tegel- of wandmontagesysteem, afhankelijk van de gewenste installatie.
